ARCH1101 STUDIO SESSION ONE

Image A.

Having graduated from high school more than 3 years ago, I opted for one of my more recent works. This image is from my final task for the BENV1141 course last year. The task required us to design a tropical hotel resort and create a model of it in Sketchup.

Image B.

This image is of the Petronas Twin Towers located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I find the twin towers to be of great inspiration not only because of the engineering feat accomplished in constructing these giant skyscrapers but also because of the aesthetic brilliance of the design. I first noticed the towers in the 1999 film, Entrapment which used the towers as one of it's main shooting locations. one of the most unique features of the towers is the sky bridge which links the two towers on the 41st and 42nd floor.

Image C.

This is a photograph that I took earlier this year. I find this image beautiful not only because of the vibrant colours and the shallow depth of field but also because of the memories that it conjures up when i see it. I took this photo back in summer when I had too much spare time on my hands and nothing better to do than to take photos of random items in my back yard. Photo was taken with my new(at that time) Canon 400d with a cheap 50mm lens.
